the abysmal state of pakistan

The last 50 years or so have only seen Pakistan going from bad to worse. It is a long lost battle against the favour of Pakistan that the state has indeed been going down the abyss all along without any scope of pulling itself out of it.

Be it the subject of democracy, terrorism, religious extremism, political intolerance towards India, harbouring terrorists in Afghanistan or simply plaguing the entire sub continent with the risk of rogues who want nothing else but to destabilise the region through violent un friendly ways. In recent years Pakistan has suffered its own doing in large quantum... not only have natural calamities taken a toll on the already severe economic condition of this almost third world country. But apart from the floods and the earthquakes it is the frequency of the wicked bombs that keep going off in all parts of the country... be it a small provincial town or a big city like Karachi or Rawalpindi. The situation is definitely out of control and the government like the people does not who to turn to for help. It is a classic case of mounting a tiger you can’t get off from. Pakistan created or helped create the monsters of Taliban and more recently the tehrik e Taliban. These monsters are now after the Pakistan regime for they are the close allies of USA which also happens to be the most stringent enemy, Satan incarnate for all the terror organisations across the sub continent. Till the time the Pakistani government carries on taking money and logistic support from USA at the expense of promising to exterminate the terror outfits the bombings and the violence will continue to haunt the streets of the country.

In recent times another trait has come about of extreme religious intolerance. The recent killings of the governor of Punjab and then another judge throws light on the issue of religious corruption which seems to be plaguing the country. no longer are minorities free to express their views on touché issues of blasphemy laws or any other.. if you do so you end up dead.

So long as there is religious extremism and an absence of liberal political thought in the country we cannot hope to see a reformed neighbour.

We can only wait and watch Pakistan being swallowed by its own murky politics which will not give the people a chance to a better life... but then again it is the people too who have chosen this kind of a “state of affairs” for themselves.
